§ 61.103 Eligibility requirements:

• US Citizen. If you are not a US Citizen, you must apply for TSA approval via the FTSP program. Click here to learn about the TSA FTSP program. 
• You can start at any age, but you must be:
  • 16 Years of age to solo a powered airplane
  • 17 Years of age to become a Private Pilot
• Be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language. (see regulation above)
• Obtain a FAA Class III Medical (applied for during your first lesson)
  • Note: If you decide to train for your Sport Pilot Certificate, you may not need a medical.

The medical requirements depend on the type of pilot certificate you are pursuing. Private Pilot and professional training pathways generally require an FAA medical certificate, while Sport Pilot training may offer different medical eligibility options.

We strongly recommend speaking with our admissions team before submitting an FAA medical application. Certain medical history, medications, or application answers may require additional documentation, and addressing those questions in advance can help prevent unnecessary delays.

Yes. Non-U.S. citizens may be eligible for flight training after completing the required TSA approval process.

Please note that FalKor Aviation Academy is not currently authorized to issue the documentation required for a student visa. International students who already have an eligible immigration status may still be able to train after receiving TSA approval. Student visa support is planned for a future phase of the academy.

The total cost of flight training varies based on the certificate you are pursuing, the aircraft you select, how frequently you train, and the amount of additional practice you require to meet FAA standards.

Your training expenses will normally include aircraft rental, instructor time, preflight and postflight briefings, ground instruction, training materials, FAA testing fees, and examiner fees. We provide realistic program estimates so you can plan for the complete training process rather than relying only on the FAA minimum flight-time requirements.

If you are applying for a loan, we suggest adding 20%-30% to the quoted program cost to cover you in the event of training delays.

No large tuition payment is required to begin training at FalKor Aviation Academy. Most clients pay as they train, allowing you to progress at a pace that works for your schedule and budget.

Clients who would like to reduce their aircraft rental rate may purchase a prepaid 10-hour aircraft block. Block-rate purchases require a simple agreement explaining how the funds are applied and the terms of the discounted rate.

You will be responsible for the cost of each scheduled lesson, along with any required training materials or online ground-school courses.

We generally recommend scheduling three to six training sessions per week whenever your schedule and budget allow. These sessions may include flights, ground lessons, simulator sessions, or guided study.

Consistent training helps you retain information, build skills more efficiently, and reduce the time spent reviewing previous lessons. Extended breaks between lessons often increase both the total training time and overall cost of earning a certificate.

Completion time depends on the certificate, your availability, weather, aircraft availability, and how consistently you train. Clients who train several times each week generally progress more efficiently than those who schedule only occasionally.

Sport Pilot training may be completed in approximately two to six months, while Private Pilot training commonly takes approximately three to six months. More advanced certificates and ratings will vary based on your existing experience and total recent flight time. Learn more about our flight training courses here.

The first lesson at FalKor Aviation Academy is a 2 hour ground lesson. During this lesson, you'll work with your instructor to apply for your student pilot certificate (This is a real certificate (often referred to as a license.)) Next you'll apply for your FAA Medical Certificate, review the training program, review the syllabus, and conduct a preflight inspection of the aircraft.

If time permits, you'll tour the maintenance hangar and look at aircraft in various phases of maintenance to gain a better understanding of what goes on behind the cowling.

What to bring:

• Unexpired US Passport or Birth Certificate.  
• Government-issued photo ID.  
• Know your Social Security Number (used during student pilot application.)  
• FAA Medical (if you have one.)  
• Student / Pilot's Certificate (if you have one).

Time savings tip: If we added your account or you scheduled a discovery flight/tour, you received an email from Flight Circle. This is our online portal for scheduling and Lesson Grading. If you log in (using the temporary password sent to your email.) You will be prompted to e-sign the client agreement. On the agreement form, the system allows you to upload any documents you have. Don't worry, they aren't required to sign the agreement and access the schedule, but uploading them here will add them to your account.

FalKor Aviation Academy uses a weekly Client Availability Form to build the training schedule. Each week, you will submit this form indicating the days and times you are available for the upcoming scheduling period.

Your availability is displayed on our Flight Operations scheduling dashboard and used to coordinate your instructor, aircraft, and lesson requirements.

Once a reservation is created, you will receive a notification through our online scheduling system. You can then review your upcoming lessons, training records, and account information online. 

Flight Circle Notifications: 

To adjust your notification settings in Flight Circle: Tap or click on your name menu at the top right > Settings > Notifications. From there, you can set the following notifications as either email, text, or both.

• 24 Hour Reservation Reminder
• Reservation Added
• Reservation Edited
• Reservation Deleted

Remove or add Email and/or SMS from any of the choices and tap Save to update.

You can sync reservations with Google Calendar.  This allows you to see your schedule on your own device(s) and personal calendar, outside Flight Circle. Once connected, your recent and future reservations will be copied to the Google Calendar you specify, including: reservation name(s), time and dates, and reservation notes.  A direct link for quick edits is also included.

1. Tap your name at the top right > Settings > Schedule Settings
2. Tap Sign in with Google. You can choose to connect to an existing calendar or create a new one (creating a new one allows you to separate your Flight Circle reservations from your other calendar appointments).
3. Be sure to check ALL check boxes so proper authentication is allowed.

In less than a minute, your reservations will appear in your Google Calendar.

A canceled flight does not lead to a canceled training session. When weather or aircraft maintenance prevents us from flying, your instructor will use the scheduled time to cover a ground lesson in our training syllabus, simulator training, flight planning, knowledge-test preparation, or a review of upcoming lessons.

This approach helps you continue making progress even when conditions are not suitable for flight. When a productive ground lesson is not appropriate, we will work with you to reschedule the flight portion of the lesson.

Aircraft and instructor time are reserved specifically for each client. To keep the schedule fair and maintain aircraft availability, we require clients to provide 24-hour notice, as stated in their enrollment agreement, when canceling or changing a reservation. Cancellations shall be made with our flight operations team via a telephone call. Messages can be left 24-hours a day. Leaving a message will satisfy the notification requirement.

Late cancellations and missed lessons may be charged the applicable cancellation or no-show fee. Exceptions may be considered for legitimate emergencies, but repeated cancellations or missed reservations may affect future scheduling priority.

Weather and maintenance decisions are made by FalKor Aviation Academy and your instructor. You will not be penalized when the Academy cancels a flight for safety or maintenance reasons.

Student solo and rental flights: Pilots engaged in these flights are encouraged to cancel if the Pilot In Command (PIC) feels that they need to, for ANY REASON. Under no circumstances will FalKor Aviation Academy penalize a client for deciding to cancel a solo or rental flight.

Dual Flights: During dual flight operations (flying with your instructor), the instructor is the Pilot In Command (PIC) and shall make the decision whether to fly or not. Under these circumstances, the flight activity will be converted to one of the open ground lessons within the syllabus. If all ground lessons have been graded, you will be given the option to cancel or to cover subjects you have questions on.

Yes. Our weekly availability process is designed to accommodate clients with work, school, family, and other responsibilities. You will submit the times you are available, and our scheduling team will coordinate your lessons based on instructor and aircraft availability.

We provide flexibility, but consistent availability is still important. Clients who can make themselves available several times per week generally complete training faster and with fewer review lessons.

Qualified pilots may apply to rent FalKor Aviation Academy aircraft after completing the required aircraft checkout and approval process.

Rental requirements may include a review of your pilot certificate, medical eligibility, logbook experience, recent flight activity, insurance qualifications, and familiarity with our operating procedures. Additional ground or flight training may be required depending on the aircraft and your previous experience.

Aircraft rentals are subject to availability, weather, currency requirements, and the terms of the current rental agreement.
